About

My name is Matt Ross and I am a 37 year old lifelong Wisconsin resident.  Being from a rural Wisconsin town, I have an intense passion for the outdoors including hunting and fishing, and especially musky fishing.  I was bit by the so called “musky bug” at a very early age.  The fish of “10,000” casts was a reality for me starting out my musky fishing career, but it was well worth the wait when I buried hooks into my first one!  Since then, I fish for musky whenever I have time.  Although I gravitate toward musky, I also love to get out and chase down almost anything that swims in the waters of  Wisconsin.  There is nothing quite as tranquil and peaceful as being out on the water waiting for that unmistakable tug on the other end of the line.

I thoroughly enjoy introducing new people to the great sport of fishing and sharing my past experiences and knowledge with all experience levels alike.  I devote my time on the water to studying the movements and activities of musky and all species alike through the always changing seasons here in Wisconsin.  I am always using that information to better hone my tactics during any particular time of year.  Whether it is moon phases, weather patterns, or water temps, I try to take it all into account.  I am constantly learning new things and nothing brings me a greater sense of accomplishment then putting all the pieces together and sharing in the thrill of the catch.  Fishing isn’t just about the catch but also the friendships and memories that are made during and that’s what Musky Operations if all about!
